In-Home Therapy and Therapeutic Mentoring

A Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI), In-Home Therapy (IHT) is available to MassHealth clients age 20 and under who are at risk of inpatient hospitalization, transitioning from acute treatment, or in need of support beyond the scope of outpatient services.

At Aspire Health Alliance, we know raising a family is a challenging task, especially when a child has mental health or behavioral challenges. When individual therapy is not enough, and/or your child needs more intensive supports, our In-Home Therapy (IHT) teams partner with your family to help you stabilize your child’s risky behaviors. We create individualized and achievable plans to help you take the necessary steps towards living a healthier life together. Rooted in our values of developing a trusting relationship that addresses overall well-being, our family therapy teams want to make a difference in your life.

Providing services including Boston, New Bedford, Brockton, Quincy, Plymouth and other South Shore communities, the Aspire Health Alliance IHT team includes a masters level clinician and a therapeutic training and support worker who provide home-based support to youth and their families with 24 hour, 7 day a week on-call support. Our IHT teams work with families using a family systems approach, meeting the family where they are – geographically, culturally and emotionally. They provide families with risk management and safety planning, assist the youth and family in improving ineffective patterns of interaction and provide caregivers with education and skill building.

The IHT team also links the family and youth to community-based services and coordinates behavioral health care with academic and medical care. Home visits are made between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM seven days a week, with on-call support available 24 hours a day.

Therapeutic Mentoring

Children learn by watching and doing. In addition to counseling, some children benefit from extra support to practice skills. With the support of an Aspire Health Alliance Mentor, children get additional time each week focused on developing the skills assigned by their therapeutic team both at home and in the community. Our caring mentors work closely with both yourself and your child’s therapist to design and implement strategies to help them meet their goals. Whether this be building self-esteem or reducing anxiety, the mentoring service is available for all children receiving individual therapy.

Therapeutic Mentoring, also a Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative, is available to MassHealth clients age 20 and under who are referred by a CBHI-based service or other provider. For more information about In-Home Therapy and Therapeutic Mentoring, please call the appropriate number below:
