In-Home Therapy and Therapeutic Mentoring

At Aspire Health Alliance, we know raising a family is a challenging task, especially when a child has mental health or behavioral challenges. When individual therapy is not enough, and/or your child needs more intensive supports, our In-Home Therapy (IHT) teams partner with your family to help you stabilize your child’s risky behaviors. We create individualized and achievable plans to help you take the necessary steps towards living a healthier life together. Rooted in our values of developing a trusting relationship which addresses overall well-being, our family therapy teams want to make a difference in your life.

A Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI), In-Home Therapy is available to youth (up to age 21) with MassHealth, Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA, Tufts, Allways, or UBH/Harvard Pilgrim coverage; outpatient services alone do not meet the needs of the youth and family; the youth resides in a family home environment which can include a foster home or home of a relative; and the youth’s clinical condition warrants use of In-Home Therapy. Families can be referred during an Acute Community-based Treatment stay, by a Mobile Crisis Intervention Team or may be referred by an Intensive Care Coordinator (ICC) in a community service agency. Youth may also be referred by school personnel, pediatric medical services, workers in the Juvenile Justice system, family members, or other community referral sources. Our IHT team includes master’s level clinicians and therapeutic training and support staff who work closely with families in their homes to strengthen parenting skills, promote effective communication, and achieve safety and stability. Home visits are made between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm seven days a week, with on-call support available 24 hours a day. Services are provided in Boston and Quincy, and other South Shore communities. The IHT team also connects clients and their families to outside community support services, as well as academic, medical, and behavioral care resources.

Therapeutic Mentoring

Children learn by watching and doing. In addition to counseling, some children benefit from extra support to practice skills. With the support of an Aspire Health Alliance Mentor, children get additional time each week focused on developing the skills assigned by their therapeutic team both at home and in the community. Our caring mentors work closely with both yourself and your child’s therapist to design and implement strategies to help them meet their goals. Whether this be building self-esteem or reducing anxiety, the mentoring service is available for all children receiving individual therapy. Therapeutic Mentoring, also a Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative, is available to MassHealth clients age 20 and under who are referred by a CBHI-based service or other provider. For more information call our Intake department 617.847.1914 or download our referral form and fax it to 781.843.2403.
