Great opportunity exists for a Respite Mental Health Worker in our Intensive Community Support-Respite program!  This program is available to adults referred by the Department of Mental Health who have lost their housing, are experiencing a need for increased support, or are transitioning back into the community from a hospital setting. The open, five-bed residential unit provides clients with stability as they connect with the resources and services needed to achieve independent living. The Respite Mental Health Worker will be part of a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team of professionals which includes Nurses, Case Managers, Peer Specialists, and Master’s level Clinicians. The Respite Mental Health Worker will be responsible for:

  • Implementing individual treatment plans
  • Facilitating recreational, therapeutic, and coping activities
  • Supporting healthy living through proper diet and daily living skills
  • Completing documentation, reports, and data collection

Required Skills

  • Must demonstrate the following characteristics: flexible, team player, ability to grow and learn in the position, ability to provide support and quality care
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision, work independently, and use good judgement
  • Bilingual skills and/or experience with multicultural populations preferred

Required Experience

  • Prior experience working with adults in an acute mental health setting
  • Medication Administration Program (MAP) and CPR/First Aid certifications will be required
  • Requires valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and access to personal vehicle for consumer transportation
  • BA/BS in Psychology or related field strongly preferred
