Aspire Health Alliance receives $2 million grant
Federal grant to support accessible, integrated community behavioral health services

QUINCY, MA – Aspire Health Alliance has received a $2 million award for the next two years from the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to enhance access and services for behavioral health and to become designated as a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center (CCBHC).

“This is a significant opportunity to advance our mission of serving more and serving better, with integrated care that increases access to and improves the quality of community mental and substance use disorder treatment,” said Antony Sheehan, President and CEO of Aspire Health Alliance. “This federal grant helps us undertake work that also aligns our services and goals with the state of Massachusetts efforts to improve community behavioral health services.”

According to Sheehan, the federal funding will enable investments that strengthen and coordinate services and crisis intervention for individuals with serious mental illness or substance use disorders, including opioid use disorders. The funds will support a focus on serving children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance.

“We undertake this work in the face of major challenges – including our recovery from the pandemic, and workforce shortages unprecedented in our sector. Yet the need for our services is more acute than ever,” said Sheehan. “To meet our mission – and grow and thrive – we embrace the opportunity to embark on this transformational initiative to ensure access to coordinated, comprehensive, and patient-centered care at Aspire’s community behavioral health center.”
