South Shore Mental Health announced that Deborah Jean Parsons, PhD has been appointed Director of Integrated Care for the Quincy-based behavioral healthcare provider. Parsons joins the non-profit with more than 25 years of experience in mental health, social services, and health care with Massachusetts organizations including the Department of Children and Families, Signature Health Care, and the Association for Behavioral Healthcare.

In her new role, Parsons will be responsible for oversight of multiple care management and integration models within the South Shore Mental Health system. “We are pleased to welcome Deborah as our Director of Integrated Care,” said Vice President of Outpatient Services Paul Shaw. “Her vast experience promoting mental health integration within schools, hospitals, and the community will be invaluable as we continue to expand and enhance our care coordination programs, particularly for MassHealth clients.”

Ms. Parsons holds a PhD and a master’s degree in Social Policy and Management from the Heller School at Brandeis University and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Boston College.

 Since 1926, South Shore Mental Health has been building hope and changing lives for children born with developmental disabilities, and children, teens, and adults living with mental illness. Today, the agency has more than 700 employees based in Quincy, Marshfield, Plymouth, and Wareham, and their non-profit early intervention and mental health treatment and recovery programs reach 16,000 people from Boston to Cape Cod each year.
